Dear Dead Diary, Tag Vier.

Fifteen September, Two Thousand Seven.

Guang Zhou.
Morning.

Location : Lying on the cold floor.
beware, it's quite a long entry
Woke up at 6am as we were leaving for HongKong via train, fortunately, i packed my luggage last night. As the girls were packing their bags.. i fell back into deep sumber, only to be waken up at 9am, where i had to rush changing and my final minutes preparations, we took a cab to the train station, where we got our tickets to Hong Kong!, Kowloon!. The duration between guangzhou and kowloon using the railtrain is an hour. Good enough for a nap or the likes. Just a little F.Y.I, Hong Kong consist of two "main" island. Hong Kong island and Kowloon, which technically is part of the mainland (CHINA).

Once again, i got left out even in the seatings.. i got left alone. Ended up having some honkie kid sitting beside me playing sudoko. So, i plugged in my mp3 and look forward in capturing some scenery, only to realise that my window is pretty messed up. ha.. ended up only capturing some images.

The scenery between GZ and Kowloon wasn't impressive. The normal, greenery. Blocks after blocks of buildings. More greenery. Some tunnels, empty train stations.

When we arrived at kowloon, after going through a hectic custom check which lasted half an hour. Converting our China currency to HongKong currency. We decided to have lunch before finding a transport to our accommodation.

Guess what we had for lunch? (i didn't eat though.)

We scouted for a driver to send us to our hostel. Couple of turns later, we ended up in a traffic jam... took us a good forty minutes to reach our destination, which on the map, seems quite close from the train station.

Upon arrival, we were greeted with tons of mini buses, passing crowds, exhaust, humid air and the likes, thankfully. the hostel was just a stone's lob away. While waiting to check in. We chatted with this lady who was waiting to check in, we found out she is a japanese lady who is just traveling around S.E.A, good looking lady, funny too.. ha, unfortunately, my few minutes of communication, ended after she checked in. Never did saw her again. So much for killing romance.

We waited awhile to get our room fixed for the ladies, for Mark and myself, our room were not ready. All in all, we paid around 50SGD for one room a night. Seems quite reasonable, until you see the room. It's probably the size of a common room of a HDB flat. Let's not mention about the toilet. From my rough estimation, the toilet is probably 1.5metres by 1metre. Barely enough space to actually sit on the floor.

Mini "Killer" Buses.

With our stamina bar all charged up, we decided to get out and explore the area before meeting that friend. We decided to try the subway in Kowloon which kinda reminds me of home.

A taste of home. ahhhhh...

Victoria Peak

"Victoria Peak (traditional Chinese: 太平山頂) is a mountain in Hong Kong. It is also documented as The Peak locally, and Mount Austin. The mountain is located in the western half of the Hong Kong Island. With an altitude of 552 m, it is the highest mountain on the island, although far from the highest Tai Mo Shan in the territory. It is also is known to have the highest land value in the world, with many of the Super-Rich residing here. Because of its view, history and spectacular location Victoria Peak is strongly attached with an air of prestige."

Abstracted from Wikipedia.

Walking up to the peak isn't a small task. The Queue for the tram wasn't a small task too. It actually stretches uphill from the ticket outlet. Thankfully, we decided to go with the package tour, which includes Madame Tussauds wax museum entry.

That package deal cost more, but was directed all the way to the front of the queue, which in that case, was very well worth the money.

Along the way, we met a superstar!

sadly, he was just wax...

reaching the peak, we decided to head to the museum first, as it was getting quite late. The museum was guarded by...

The wax museum gave us a chance to experience something fresh from just eating and shopping.. a chance to mess around and most of all, letting us "Cut-Queue" for the tram ride. If we had waited, we will probably still be waiting today!

And thus, our wax model hunt begins..

Whew, after a long day, all we wanted was to get back to the hostel and check into our rooms... took the train back, where we had some light supper at a nearby cafe.. it was good... the rice rolls were the best! And that was pretty much the events that happened on the 15th.. long, but exciting.. in a way... all we wanted was to rest, as tomorrow would be another long day.. ;)

Dear Dead Diary, Tag Drei, Part 2

Been awhile since, the last entry was in..my humble apologizes

might as well finish it all..

from where i left off, i just had Dim sum brunch at guangzhou.

My next destination!!!

Getting Lost!!

our main objective for the later part of the day was just to get lost..
lost in Guang zhou. We decided to take a cab down to one of the popular shopping area to begin getting "lost". Ended up shopping a little before we* decided to wander the streets.

*We, Jeremy, Mark and myself, the girls decided to get their hair done. What for? i have no idea.

This is an interesting thing to do in board daylight

Click for a better view!

We walked to many places, rivers, markets, roads, condom machine,hotels,chruches,parkes..

one heck of a cannon eh?

with all that walking, i can actually say we are like some participants of GUANGZHOU's STANDARD CHARTARTED 42.5KM run/walk. Either way, i think we actually did walk that much. Bad thing is, we took a cab back to our apartment, had a good dinner. If I recalled, we have an italian buffet.! Perfecto! Good news. We did more walking about that... ugh! how i consider that good news, is beyond me. The crew wanted to club, but i think they were too exhuasted from all the walking, ha.. so we headed back to the apartment, and continued their packing, once again.. i got to sleep on the floor.. lovely ;)

Lost In Translation

Till then.. adidos..
