Work Work..

Work's a pain in the @$$ for people who are in the same position as i am..
sure.. we're told to think positive..
but how do we do that
when
we are so strictly adhered with rules that restrict us..
and limited to resources that we required yet don't receive
either from sanity reasons or work reasons..

heck.. i won't mind been restricted.. if it's the company's policy or what nots.
But definitely not at the kind of respect and pay we are given.

We're even worse than the cats loitering..

Darn, even blogging about it is risky..
and i shall end it here for my health reasons.

Cosfest 2009!

Yes!! IT was my first time at the local CosFest for the first Time! and boy.. are we the only group there going out of that place disappointed!! Firstly, Kudos to the Cosplayers! Seriously, some of them actually work for them costumes, even those with the "buang" costumes should be given credits... But.. apparently.. sad to say, most of the people behind the costumes.. are all epic fails cases.. Either they look really buang.. or they look really really buang.. but.. i'll give kudos to them costumes and effort to get in the character! A job well done to them local cosplayers!!! Costumes over beauty!!

So, with the four of us (Three of us with the intention to find a wife/girlfriend that sunday late afternoon) we set out for Cosfest held at D'marquee at Downtown east.. Journey to the east i think you.. why can't they hold it at city hall or something.. but.. i suppose cosplayers love to travel.. :P

So, back to the story.. when the four of us arrived at the scene.. we were awed by the amount of nerds cosplayers there.. so many colors, so many costumes, so many people and not one worth mentioning..
alright the previous statement was harsh.. there were many worth mentioning.. dissing or praising otherwise!! :P

Though, i honestly can say i have no experience in this.. so my comments are to be taken with a pinch of salt..

The Bad, meaning that .. the effort was either minimal.. awful in taste or just pure bad like Sir Kruser!!

Never watched it before... But i spirited away when i saw this..

i'm a huge Star Wars fan.. but when i saw this TIE pilot.. i was very disappointed.. it was a damn midget in it.. Has the empire started hiring kids to fly their ships? No wonder the rebels destroyed Death Star..

Not Innovative. He came as mario last time. Mario again? He should have came as the ? box instead

If you think this is cute.. you got a deranged childhood man.. would you like to dress your 2 year old kid as a golden hair freak who shoots fireball by chanting a whole series of words? You would? well.. good for you :S

And of course the good! There is a number of good shots! i took some of my friends and colleague.. apparently. . the better looking cosplay were on saturday.. pity we didn't attend it. Raid > Cosfest :P

This group of La-femme fatales weren't that bad, especially miss Butler with her skull loving blue suit master.. and her friends.. Poor Mikuru has a bad choice of friends i say..

2 Girls Hugging Each Other? Man.. definitely something to show.. Maccross cosplay to the max!!

Easily, one of the most effort in costume design and what nots (Unless he bought the suit) This GunDAMN deserves sets a threshold on what cosplayer should reproduce.. but thats my two cents :P not everything is a robot :P

One of my favourite. This cosplayer deserves my full kudos on this Cosplay of Cloud Strife from Advent Children, from his hair to the outfit to his ass kicking sword man.. pity i only saw him once or twice..

I'm assuming she's Saya from Blood.. those red eyes helps alot.. plus she's cute.. simple and clean with a sword.

My perfect view of the K-ON! girls.. gone.. but i do admit.. their costumes are damn cool.. what was it called? gothic lolita? something like that? Love Mio(middle)'s Costume and her small hat.. Yui(Left)'s quite cute.. but.. the lady on the left?..well..you find out what's wrong.. :P

We missed some cosplayers on saturday.. but a friend send me some.. kinda regretted not attending on Saturday.. though the events on sunday i heard were better in comparison, here's some of the better looking cosplayers on saturday :P

All in all, it was rather a fun experience, seeing how people cosplay.. looking at photographers of all sizes.. ranging from nerd size to professional critics and people who just wanna get lucky.. but ain't so lucky after seeing the crowd.. to real hardcore cosplayer who really brings out their character in them..

The events held there were rather unique.. ranging from the standard cosplay costume competition to singing competitions..
and boy, were we shocked at the singing competition.. there was this Indian girl.. who actually sung in Japanese.. and boy was she good.. potential singapore idol material..

As for the prizes.. i feel that the prizes were a bit buang.. The first prize for the costume awards.. was a return ticket from Japan.. Guess what sucker? you have to buy the ticket to go to Japan!! you're stuck here fool!! :P well..at least he has a free return.. ticket.. from japan.. for one.. wonder what he'll do with it :P

We didn't really visited the retails over there.. it seems quite standard.. you know the anime badges, posters, shirts.. some figurines, fan artworks, buttons.. what a normal otaku would love yea.. we didn't have much interest in that section...

Though i was hanging out with +10 Nerd (Kuan) and 2 other +5 nerds (jon, gary) we didn't really check them out yea..
guess it was partly because we're working adults and have no use for this in camp.. :P

Well, i'm kind of looking forward to the next cosfest.. probably have to be more daring and take more photos.. didn't really shoot much this time.. due to shyness.. and this time.. we'll gonna have to drag a female nerd along!! even the odds!!

Till then, we might even cosplay as Slipknot... just need 5 more group members to join us..
i'm sure we'll win the group cosplay prize. :D

Girls And Guitars.

Just as much as we love our rockers with black leather outfits and long wavy hair/spiky bad boy spikes/emo hairstyle

I'm pretty sure we'll be content with our rockers chicks dressed up in a school uniform, posing with their instruments... No nitty gitty on the hair or style.. just instrument, cutesy school uniform and we're good to go...Hmmm.. Go Ponder.

Financial Rest Week!

I Can't believe the weekends pass by so fast,

Although it was a "financial" rest week for myself,

i can't believe that it passed that quickly..
though i partly blame myself for playing WoW all day (while taking regular breaks of course)

okay fine..

that's was the major blame :P

Can't stop a major addiction now can we? :P

Could have been doing something productive, like clearing the rubbish from my room or reading up on stuff..
hanging out with friends ( pity, i've got that little friends ;) )

Well..
I hope the week passes a little faster to!

I've always wondered..

why people avoided sitting beside me on buses, bus stops, trains, train station, generally everywhere and i'm talking about common everyday strangers.. not friends.. gee.. even some of my friends avoid me.. haha

it's been going on since i was a teenager..
everytime i'm waiting for a bus or a train
and i'm sitting at the sitting area..
strangers will tend to avoid me..

even if there was ample seats..
or the only seat left..

even on trains and buses..
sometimes. where there is only one seat.. and alot of people standing..
they will avoid sitting beside me..

strange if you asked me..
then again..
i notice that the group that avoid this the most
are the females..

Sighh
what a random thought..
been avoided by females..

It's been awhile since i actually started on a new anime series, and i must tell you, and boy am i very late for this current series i'm catching, Even bought a figurine even before i watch it.. shows how slow i've been.. i blame work!! and.. partly WoW..
okay.. mostly WoW.. but since everyone's busy with other stuff.. i thought i cool it down with the WoW.. for now.. and since i lost my NDS.. i can't game much, reading is still chunk between my worktime and freetime, but.. i never thought of picking up watching animes.
But boy, i'm not regretting picking up this one.

It's titled.
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

Quite a mouthful for me.. i say..Ten-Gen, TOP-pa, Gur-Ren, La-gann.
And no, i have no idea what those character means..

So far, after watching a couple episodes, i'm kinda into it, i mean.. C'mon.. there's almost everything in it, Comical characters, Sci-Fi (Think Mecha, not really a big fan, but the mecha's animation is really unique, compared to robot animes i've seen(which isn't alot)), Girls (errrmm.. haha? :P), Character development, great storyline(so far), There's even love in the series(from my POV),Classic One Liners(The Hell is A Giga Drill Breaker!!?!) Emotional (One of the male leads gets "cast" off quite early, leaving quite an emotional scene..) Guns and not forgetting the fighting spirits of humans... and this really cute girl.. with her really big gun.. hmmmmm

Huge Ass Gun isn't it? hmm

Frankly, i love the artwork of this anime,
It ROCKs to the core yea..

then again.. i'm not as Hardcore as Kuan Rui, so perhaps my views might be amateurish, i just like the application of shaders at the correct moments, the coloring of the artwork really matches the settings/mood of the anime at times..

Moments like this..It's artwork and storyline really keeps me coming back to the anime..

LoL, there's even pillow casing of the female cast!! *Droollsss* hahaha.. No, i'm not considering to get one.. my pillows ain't that big, it's probably for bolsters...hmmmm.. now there's a thought.. hmm :P

Think i'm willing to burn a couple hours of sleep to watch this...
Seems appealing at the current episode..

Edit : After watching a few episodes, i found another character to oogle about, Mmmmm Nia.. No guns,
But boy, damn she's cute! :P Character and Artwork!! IMO, cuter than Yoko, But Yoko has a greater character development.

Guess i'll play a little less WoW to watch this..
Gotta micromanage my timing..

And So i leave you here, with a new anime to check out, i'm pretty sure Mr Rui has already caught it.. but hey , just letting out a shout out to them anime watchers who are like me..
