Tuesdays gone.. and i'm here with you..

My tuesday nights are usually quiet.. solemn, serene.. probably because WoW realms are mostly down for maintenance on tuesday nights(morning for them)..

We like to call Tuesdays... "GetALife" day.. but.. what's to get when we have no Life..
to quote a certain cartoon..
"How do you kill someone without a Life?"

actually.. tuesdays are nice..
it's just that work's killing me for now..

i just recently got myself two figurines..
and i don't even have time to fiddle around with it..

Yesss.. it's Haruhi again!!! but of a different Brand.. with more movable joints, and.. she's in a bunny suit.. rawwwr..

and featuring a new character... Yoko!! a bounty hunter from an anime i cannot remember.. tengan gurrea something.. just look at that face.. :P did i mention that she comes with a big gun??? hmmm, i'm due for a photo shoot of them figurines, haven't played with my camera in awhile now.. and i still have Yuki on pre order.. hohoho...

i've got no reason to be slacking.. i should be deciding whether i should go for a part time degree..
but with all the work piling at work.. (well, for this period) i'm having difficulty deciding eh..sigh.. guess i'll wait for another time..

Haruhi's Melancholy Of Alteration..

I have been eyeing this particular figurine since i heard of it's pre-order since early oct, ever since then, i've been looking around from it, and the local shops down here stopped pre-ordering by then.. so when i saw one on the shelf of a local, though with a pricey price tag... i thought why not? Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas And Happy New Year to myself!!..and voila, here we are, one of the most bea-U-tiful Haruhi figurine created to date!! (second to freeing's 1/4 Haruhi, gotta get my hands on that too!!), Got out my camera and started easing my itchy trigger finger!!

Speaking of trigger fingers, This version of Haruhi has her posing in a mid-dash position, with her two finger salute and her trademark, well not really a trademark.. but it's around there, that slight smile..that will melt any Haruhi's fan's heart..

Alongside with her smile, Alter has also included her schoolbag (logical with the school uniform eh?) her trademark hairband and also her arm band! (which i still think has Leader written on it.. hmm)

Everything is sculptured perfectly (IMO) from her hairband to her uniform crest, ribbon and even her footwear.. well, to various other parts too.. :D

One thing that worries me.. is that Haruhi stands on one foot, leaning a little towards her right.. in due time, i'am pretty sure it will lean completely to her right..which worries me alot when i first got her..thankfully, she sticks out her right hand palm facing outwards.. she can at least support the undistributed weight to her hand..

I do admit, her pose makes taking photos of her rather difficult, i tried different angles and lightning, but i mostly get the same results, or perhaps i'm just not that good in photography yet eh? Probably need to rack my brain for more creative shots or poses.. if possible. Most of her angles show the same result.. but nevertheless..

with a little braining racking.. i somehow managed to get a one or two creative shots.. depending on how you decipher it ;) though her pose won't change.. and i can't take her laying down.. just doesn't seem right..

Well, i don't normally do this type of shoots, but i suppose.. if they give it.. i'll take it? :P Sides, i dedicated this few shots to my "otaku" buddy, Mr Yeo Kuan Rui.. yess you like that don't cha Kuan? :P enjoy!.. sides.. you just can't say no to...

All in all, if you're a Haruhi fan, have the excess money to spend, love pvc figurines, prefers a close to prefect sculptured figurine (i find it prefect, but maybe i'm just bias :P) don't mind a leaning figurine or just need a good looking paperweight, maybe this particular version of Haruhi can just be that solution.. Mind you though.. she's quite rare in the local market.. went to 4 shops.. and only one shop was holding on to a few more.. or you can just op for the bikini Haruhi.. but thats another story.. that i won't be venturing at all..
So with that.. i leave you if without any awe with the figurine..at least in awe of the photography attempts :P

Thinkpad W700

One can never complain about a new labtop, and being a fan of IBM.. this particular model is a desktop replacement, with 4gb of ram, a rather powerful gfx and processor, i think it might even surpass my own desktop.. the unique factor of this model is.. that.. it comes with a wacom pad!!.. for all your graphical editing needs!!(and others)... bad thing..

this costs more than the DSLR.. ranging about 5-6K sgd.. sigh.. keep dreaming...

Well.. she's not exactly hot.. but she does Le Parkour, that's a cool factor!! I think she's a main character from the new uprising game, Mirror's Edge, where you are a courier in a controlled world, jumping from roof to roof.. vents to ceilings, buildings to buildings in First Person (Youtube Mirror's Edge to find out what i meant!) i'm actually looking forward to it.. seems rather good.. but in order to play it.. it's either i steal a playstation 3 from somewhere.. or upgrade my computer.. ha.. damn.. looks like it's just another dream..Est Game Pricing (79.90 for PS3, 64.90 for PC )..

Yuki Tuesday!!

Before i hit the sacks.. i thought i took photos and review a little about this latest treasure figurine i've got recently :P

The swimsuit version of Yuki!! woot..
she totally replaced my bikini saber's positioning!! erm.. on my desk. :P hah..

oohh.. look at them eyes..

Yuki's in this kneeling position with hands at pinpoint positions..(look at photos later)
the finishing of the figurine isn't that bad.. without much defects, though there are spots here and there but you really can't blame mass producing for that..

A little about this figurine..
Yuki has both her right index fingers and her left thumb stuck in.. rather interesting places..
one's in collar neck of the swimsuit.. and the other as at..the..
erm.. bottom region of the swimsuit..

i'm guessing.. swimsuits can be rather warm eh?..heh..

mm sparkling...

And there's Yuki's thumb in the bottom region.. venturing into the depths of the unknown.. hmm hmm.. :P, the details of the swimsuit are rather crisp to the max.. and also others :P..
can't expect less from Alter figurines.. although they are rather costly..
can't wait to get my hands on the Haruhi figurine from Alter too..

coming out on nov.
personal b.day gift to myself..hahaha

for now.. i still have my figma Yuki to experiment with!.. hahah
too many figurines.. so little time..

back to being emo.. my time is very limited now.. hah..

the lighting for this shoot, wasn't the best.. with one ceiling light.. i can't do much... but thanks to a handy torchlight.. i manage to get some orange lighting in..
i'm still having problems with my camera's white balance settings.. kinda irks me sometimes.. giving me an undesirable coloring.. in some cases.. the figurine looks fairer than normal.. or worse..
well, at least with all this fooling around, i mean.. playing with the camera. i've learned some new effects.. such as lens blurring while the shutter is open for that.. "oh angelic" type of effect.. :p
but i need a new lens!! a macro lens.. my standard 18-70mm 3.5A lens ain't cutting it with macro shots with bad lighting..
guess it's time to save the army pay!!..
where art thou my new lens.. or camera :P..
an a700 or 900 would be lovely..

tsk.. for now.. a macro lens would be nice..

...sigh..rant.. rant.. :P
